✨ Nine Little Hauntings ✨

A series from The Hollow—brief encounters with the uncanny, where the ordinary twists and the quiet lingers a little too long.

“Some rooms don’t wait to be entered—they wait to be noticed.”

When Margaret bought the old house, the realtor warned her that the back bedroom “never quite felt right.” She laughed, thinking it just needed a bit of fresh air or a coat of fresh paint.

Still, she noticed the door was always closed, no matter how often she left it open. The neighbors told her no one had slept in the room in years, yet a soft light was often seen. Margaret had the wiring tested, yet nothing was ever wrong, and the room remained dark. She was beginning to suspect she was the butt of a joke.

One evening, she lingered outside the room and heard a low murmur from inside, almost as though someone was softly reciting names.

She locked the door after that. But the next morning, it stood open, and the faint scent of lavender hung in the hallway, as if someone had just passed by.

Best to leave some doors closed… but tomorrow, another will creak open.
