Eleanor's Garden Collector's Edition

I began writing Eleanor’s Garden during a time when Amazon was piloting a new serial novel platform called Kindle Vella. If you have been following me for awhile, you will be familiar with the time I spent writing there. The platform called for episodic fiction. Other novels that were created during that time were The Witching and The Island. I was experimenting with length of episodes (i.e. chapters) and kept this story short per word count while publishing weekly. This allowed for binge reading for those starting midway or near the end, while also promoting excitement for the next episode to drop.

When formatting for this edition, I debated lengthening chapters, combining them or adding new material to extend them. It felt like fluff to add pages and was a disservice to the story as it was originally written. So the version you see is the version previously published - give or take a few necessary changes and editing.

There are many original drawings within this collector’s edition that I created during the Inktober challenge of 2025. Depending on the time you are reading this, you may find some of the original artwork for sale on my website.

As with all my stories, I began this with one idea, and it grew into so much more. During the year it took me to write this novel, it evolved into something truly horrifying merging present day with ancient rituals. Jessi’s evolution of a character is one that I am most proud of as she navigates her new life and is forced to choose: hold on to who she was, who she wants to be, or who the estate demands her to be.
