This was a great little mystery! I really loved getting to know Lucy as the story unfolded. She’s dealing with grief, guilt, and the unresolved questions surrounding her twin sister’s death, which gives the mystery a lot more emotional weight than just figuring out who is responsible. Her sardonic wit is also rather enjoyable as she navigates her personal tragedy through humor.

I especially enjoyed watching Lucy dig back into the case when another girl disappears under similar circumstances. The mystery kept me curious, and I liked the way the supernatural elements slowly crept into the investigation. What starts as a disappearance with some very strange clues eventually takes Lucy somewhere much darker—and much more impossible.

Lucy’s relationship with Howie and the retired medieval history professor also added some fun to the investigation. There’s a nice balance between the mystery, the supernatural, and Lucy trying to make peace with something that has haunted her for years.

Overall, Lucy Kline, Necromancer was a fun, atmospheric mystery with a supernatural twist and a protagonist I genuinely enjoyed spending time with. A quick, engaging read for anyone who likes mysteries with a little necromancy thrown into the mix!
